Plant based

Plant based chocolate, built from a short list of real ingredients

Plant based chocolate is chocolate whose ingredients all come from plants. The best versions keep the list short: cacao, cacao butter, a plant sweetener or none, and whole ingredients such as nuts, millets and quinoa for texture. AORAH's two bars are plant based, and every ingredient is listed on the pack.

Plant based versus vegan

In practice the two overlap. Plant based describes what is in the bar. Vegan also describes the absence of any animal derived input and how it was made. AORAH is both: no dairy, no animal ingredients.

What is in an AORAH bar

  • 62% Signature Blend: cacao mass, coconut sugar, cocoa butter, natural vanilla extract, sea salt
  • 36% Protein: cacao butter, plant protein (pea), crunchy millets, quinoa, hazelnut, natural vanilla extract, sea salt

Why whole ingredients matter

Millets and quinoa add crunch and a quiet toasted note without any need for additives to fake texture. Hazelnut adds warmth. Plant protein is folded in as a supporting ingredient, so the bar still tastes like chocolate.
